About Southern Nationalist Network

Southern Nationalist Network (SNN) was created in the Fall of 2010. Those associated with this website believe that the Southern people constitute a historic and truly national population which, like every nation of people, has a natural and unalienable right to self-determination. SNN advocates the peaceful establishment of Southern independence.

We believe in the now world-famous and often repeated words penned by the great Southerner Thomas Jefferson in 1776 that people "are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights." Self-determination is the ultimate political manifestation of the right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" that Jefferson wrote about in his Declaration of Independence. Thus, we believe in the right of secession. Therefore, no government is indivisible and permanent since the people always retain the right to alter, abolish or secede from it when they so decide. This is true of the United States Federal Government the same as it is true of all human governments everywhere, contrary to the words of the pledge to the central state that millions of school children are required to recite every morning in public schools across the United States. Southerners in various parts of the historical region they call home have enjoyed their own independent state(s) several times in history, the most well-known of which was 1861-65 when they were invaded and ultimately conquered by the United States for practicing their right to self-determination.
