Ray McBerry

Ray McBerry is the president and founder of DixieBroadcasting Radio. He is also the self-employed president of a strategy and marketing service for small businesses, and sells radio and television advertising in the Atlanta area.

A graduate of Georgia State University, with a Master of Theology from Trinity Baptist Seminary, Ray taught history at the high school and college level for about ten years. Born in Atlanta in 1968, Ray grew up in Henry County and has lived there most of his life. He is proud of his primarily Cherokee and Scots-Irish ancestry and rich cultural heritage.

Ray was the first pro-secesssionist candidate [GeorgiaFirst.Org] for governor in any Southern state since Reconstruction. When he agreed to run as a Republican candidate for Governor of Georgia in 2006, he did so to provide true conservatives an alternative to the neo-con (‘pseudoconservative’) candidates. His campaign on a forthright ‘States’ Rights’ platform was enthusiastically embraced by many Georgians, 50,000 of whom voted for him in the primary.

Ray has served the League as a local chapter chairman, state secretary, state vice-chairman, state board of directors, and state chairman in Georgia for four years. He has served on the national Board of Directors for two years. Ray is a recipient of the League’s Robert E. Lee Award for Duty, and of his favorite, the Jefferson Davis Award for Lifetime Service, which he and his young son TR together received in 2005.
