League of the South Statement
Mike Tuggle, LS Board of Directors
Since it was founded in 1994, the League of the South has been warning anyone who'd listen that DC's other-worldly, over-centralized policies were taking us down the wrong road. Restoring local self-government wasn't just about greater efficiency, or citizen accessibility, or even the restoration of morality to government -- though all of those were genuine motivations to stop the slide toward empire. The ultimate justification, though, for the League's stance was that big, over-centralized government inevitably leads to tyranny, war, and ruin, and the signs that we're approaching a cliff at 80 miles an hour are increasingly clear.

New Issue of The Free Magnolia Ready!
LS Activism
A new issue of the Free Magnolia newspaper is ready for shipment.
TFM Editor Franklin Sanders says:
"I have read the upcoming Free Magnolia. I am stunned. Powerful. Sharp-edged. Stimulating. Readable. Exciting and exact, with prescriptions for action.
This is a bull’s eye! If you thought earlier Free Magnolias were good, you will go wild over this issue. It is exactly what we have been aiming for. Better order as many as you can right now, because this one will become a collector’s item."
Orders can now be placed in several convenient ways:
Place a one time order via the website using paypal or credit card HERE.
Never risk hearing the words "sold out" again by setting yourself up with a standing order using paypal. HERE.
Send your order directly to the League office at PO Box 760, Killen, Alabama 35645.
As usual, TFM is $20 per hundred; however, we do give discounts for larger orders and standing orders.
TFM has been perhaps the best recruiting tool the League has ever devised. But they do us no good sitting here in the office. We must get them out by the tens of thousands to our people in Dixie.
Your efforts at distributing TFM have already borne tremendous results; but this is no time to let up. Instead, let's redouble our efforts in 2008 and take full advantage of the chaos that increases everyday as the empire continues to fall apart.
Place that order today!
Take Action: The Global Food Crisis
Dr. J. Michael Hill, League President
As you no doubt have heard by now, there is a global food crisis. This has been fueled (no pun intended) by rising commodity prices--oil, wheat, rice, and poultry and dairy product, among many others. Moreover, I suspect that central governments, central banks, and global corporations have a hand in the emerging crisis as well.
For whatever reasons it has come about, the global food crisis (coupled with the global energy crisis) WILL have a big impact on your life. And this will probably be sooner rather than later.
The Rebirth of DixieNet
LS Press Release
Recent statistical data indicates that as the political and social outlook becomes more uncertain, the public is taking a serious look at the viability of political devolution and the message of the League of the South.
Architects of Existence
by Dostoevsky
In the real world transhumanists advocate abandonment of what they deem a superstitious reverence for the natural order, which stands in the way of the yearned-for metamorphosis. They also advocate rejection of any taboos which might cause men to err on the side of restraint in development of human cloning, artificial intelligence, personality-altering drugs, stem-cell research, and nanotechnology. Those who would warn that re-engineering homo sapiens is “playing God” fail to realize that playing God is precisely what transhumanism is all about.
Transhumanism has gained considerable ground in academia, replacing Marxism as the most cutting-edge “value system”. .
Accomplishments
Dr. Michael Hill - LS President
What has The League of the South accomplished in its nearly 14 years of existence? Do we have a free and independent South? Do we have political, economic, cultural, or social power in the South?
The answer is, of course, no. But we have made progress.
Quo Vadis
Basil Childress - Kentucky LS Chairman
It is the 19th of March 2008 as I begin to write this piece. The last seven days have been some of the most portentous (save that of Easter Week so long ago which we now celebrate), perhaps in the history of the world.
Why would I make such a bold statement? I am mortal as any other human. I can only tell of what I perceive. But before I express my thoughts about what I see as possibilities about “Where from Here,” I must consider how we’ve come to this point of embarkation.
Rebellion Blog Back Up!
Seems the Rebellion blog was hit by a "denial of service" attack, which is computer nerd talk for overwhelming our trackback database with thousands of entries, finally causing the host system to shut down.
Apparently, we angered some folks who're so cowardly, they had to resort to vandalism. And they were successful -- not only did the site go down, our data files were so corrupted we may not be able to retrieve our archives.
So be it.
We're on a new platform now, ready to confront the con artists who are determined to impose a suffocating, alien regime on our people.
The Unfolding Financial Crisis
Bear Stearns: The big shark ate the little shark, and the Federal Reserve picked up the tab, fronting $30 billion to JP Morgan (big shark) to eat the little shark, AND guaranteeing the big shark it would not lose any money. It’s not plain yet how this will be shucked off onto taxpayers' backs, but it will.
Last Tuesday (11 March) the Fed announced a new "swap" facility, TALF, whereby it would take MBOs (Mortgage Backed Obligations) and other trash paper from the banks (worth maybe 15 - 20 cents on the dollar) and swap them US Treasury paper (worth 100 cents on the dollar) at even or maybe 80 cents. This bails out the banks, period, as it gives them a way to move their rotten subprime & other paper off their balance sheets and -- somehow or other -- onto the taxpayers' backs.
Yes We Can! The League of the South
For months Americans have been saturated with news of the Presidential race. It’s impossible not to pay it some heed, even if you feel as we do that it’s all a cynical charade. When asked, as inevitably we are, “Who’s the best choice?” we’re forced to reply, “None of the above.” Or more to the point, “It really doesn’t make any difference.”
The Demonization Of The South by Dr. Michael Hill
Demonization as a political and social stratagem knows no temporal or geographical bounds; it is a ploy as old as civilization itself. The objective of the game is to dehumanize an opponent (an individual or a group) in order to gain public support for his marginalization or destruction. Modern America abounds with examples of the demonization process, most of them perpetuated by the Left (which includes Trotskyite neo-conservatives) against the traditional, populist Right. The Oklahoma City bombing, black church burnings, the Atlanta Olympics pipe-bombing, and the ever-present and ubiquitous citizen militia movement have all been used by the government and its lap-dog media to portray anyone to the right of George W. Bush and the Republican National Committee as a clear and present danger to the public weal. But the boogie-man singled out to receive the lion’s share of the liberal/neocon opprobrium is the battleflag-waving Southern “cracker” or “redneck,”who is uniformly presented by the media, the academy, and popular culture as Old Scratch incarnate. Unfortunately, the demonization of Southerners and their region is not of recent origin.

PRESS RELEASE: LS Supports The Lakota
LS News Service
The League of the South, the premier Southern Nationalist organization, supports the Lakota Indians in their secession from the American Empire.
On 17 December, the Lakota tribes announced that they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties signed with the U.S. government. By doing so, the Lakota effectively declared their independence as a free and self-governing people.
Ron Paul and Jeffersonian Republicanism
by Basil Childress
Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul has gotten some attention (not nearly what's deserved) for the astonishing fundraising on his behalf by those who have been roused by his message.
Normally, (we're confident Dr. Paul would agree), such fundraising is merely a reflection of such sums' corrupting ability to buy power and favor from the Leviathan the US government has become. We believe Paul's fundraising is different.
The Empire Strikes Back In Charleston, SC!
by Thomas H. Naylor
As a founder of the Second Vermont Republic, one of the most high profile secession movements in America, I am often asked, “Do you think Big Brother is watching you?” Until recently I have always answered, “I don’t know.” But that all changed two nights ago, when I received a late night phone call informing me of a forthcoming conference to be held in Charleston, S.C. on December 6-8 on “Secession As An International Phenomenon.”
Why We Will Win
by Dr. J. Michael Hill
Experience shows us that life is hard. It is hard for each individual in his day-to-day affairs. It is doubly difficult when men must act together to accomplish a corporate goal. Inevitably, problems will surface that threaten to rip apart an organization committed to any sort of serious accomplishments. How we handled these difficulties—as individual LS members and as an organization--will go a long way in determining whether we will win or lose.
Red State - Blue State Secessionists Unite
by Thomas H. Naylor
Flag-waving patriots didn’t like it one bit. Nor did left-wing Democrats, right-wing Republicans, the Bush administration’s neocon mafia, the Israeli lobby, Corporate America, Fox news, CNN, National Public Radio, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, The Nation, The Wall Street Journal, or The New York Times. The have-gun-will-travel Southern Poverty Law Center was absolutely beside itself. And what exactly was it that they all didn’t like?

On the video page, you will see the beginnings of what we hope will become a large library of video content related to the Southern movement in general and the League of the South in particular.

The Chattanooga Declaration
An Official Statement from the 2nd North
American Secessonist Convention
On 3-4 October 2007 AD, the League of the South, the premier organisation of the Southern independence movement, and the Middlebury Institute, cosponsored the Second North American Secessionist Convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The convention was attended by delegates from the numerous secession movements currently active within these united States. The purpose of the convention was to provide a forum for the representatives of those movements to discuss strategies, exchange ideas and information, and find areas of mutual understanding and cooperation.
An Attack Upon Our Website And Our Freedom of Speech
Big Media Comes After DixieNet.Org During The Largest Secessionist Gathering In North America!
The website you are currently viewing is the template for the latest version of DixieNet.Org. You may notice that some of the pages are 'under construction.' The reason for this is because we had not planned to launch this version of the website for another 48 hours. Had we been able to maintain our website launch time table there would have been no unfinished pages on our site.
Secessionists Meeting in Tennessee
AP Covers the NASC Event In Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — In an unlikely marriage of desire to secede from the United States, two advocacy groups from opposite political traditions — New England and the South — are sitting down to talk. Tired of foreign wars and what they consider right-wing courts, the Middlebury Institute wants liberal states like Vermont to be able to secede peacefully. That sounds just fine to the League of the South, a conservative group that refuses to give up on Southern independence.
What The Traditional South Wants And Doesn't Want:
A Statement To The Rest Of The World
As the only extant Southern Nationalist organization, The League of the South has taken upon itself the responsibility of speaking for the Traditional South. Someone else will have to speak for the New South; we want no part of it.
Back To Eden: From Wage Slave To Freeholder
An Essay on Southern Economic Renewal: What Can the League of the South Do?
As yet, the League of the South hasn’t given the Southern people any reason to trust us. Christ said that if we would be the greatest of all, we must first be the servant of all. We must serve, and become the servant of, our people. That is our only road to leadership. Otherwise we are just the latest brand of revolutionaries shouting, "Trust us & let us change everything!" Don’t be too surprised if the sensible Southern people say, "No, thank you."
